join our friendly team in the farmshop and café

A variety of part-time and seasonal roles are available.

Flexibility, Enthusiasm, Willingness to Learn & an Interest in the Work and Ethos of Loch Arthur  

JOB DETAILS

May vary depending on the role, but will include

  • Serving customers in the café - taking and fulfilling orders
  • Providing friendly and quality service within the farm shop
  • Some food preparation, handling and drink-making
  • Stacking, packing & other shop and store work

We have seven shared households, a farm, productive gardens, creamery, bakery, craft workshops and a thriving farm shop and café. Within this award winning farm shop, people of mixed abilities, volunteers and local people who are employed work together to create a unique Social Enterprise which is one of the most respected and successful outlets of Organic and Local Food in South West Scotland.

Our farm shop is overseen by a management team.  One of the key members of this team, who carries a central role in the day to day management of our farm shop will soon be leaving, so a vacancy has arisen for someone to join us as a

Farm Shop Manager  

This exciting and challenging job opportunity is suited to a very special person who is :
  • Passionate about the work they do and has an eye for detail
  • Experienced in retail management and catering, including food hygiene systems &  controls
  • Excited to work with people of mixed abilities
  • Open and engaging in how they will relate to our customers, friends, Community memebers and all who work here
  • Willing to engage in all aspects of the life and work of the Farm Shop ... from financial control  and business planning to serving on tills and mopping floors
  • Level headed and capable in problem solving and decision making
  • Motivated and inspired by the idea of working with organic and artisan food
  • Organised, conscientious and has excellent planning skills

Details

This is a full time role but could be covered by a job-share Level of pay will be commensurate with relevant experience.  We offer 2 days off per week, one of which is Sunday, plus generous holiday entitlement, workplace pension, employee discounts and all in a beautiful rural setting.
